Srikalahasti Kalamkari Saree - Earth Goddess

Bamboo pen drawn, handpainted Srikalahasti Kalamkari from the Tirupati region. Elegant, restrained, a five and a half meter long freehand drawn painting made with natural colors on cotton-silk fabric. You even find mild smidges of imperfection and pigment in places, as is natural in the artist’s process, that make it all the more beautiful because they evidence the human hand. Befitting the title of being a work of art draped on the body. I wanted to give this textile only the tiniest touch of sparkle with a gota border, as though framing the painting. 

Disclaimer: This is a handpainted saree, and there are bound to be imperfections in the floral patterns due to the nature of the craft process made entirely by hand. These do not count as defects.

Care: Dry Clean by a professional laundry highly recommended. A mild hand wash at home might work, but kindly try at your own risk if you have handled similar textiles before.
